Police say no charges will be filed against a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer who's gun was involved in an accidental shooting last month. Winsthon Mercedes owned the gun a 3-year-old used to accidentally shoot off his thumb outside a Gastonia ABC store Aug. 20.

A store known for leather and hogs is closing in Gastonia. Carolina Harley Davidson will shut its doors this Fall. The shop not only sold and serviced Harleys, but was known to be a part of the community, donating bikes to local police departments.

A 17-year-old is charged with breaking into a Gastonia middle school on the Fourth of July. Police say Cody Fuller smashed the window of Grier Middle School and stole more than $1,500 worth of equipment and two airsoft guns.
